Dear Pantry Diaries,
🍒A good week in June eating leftovers, visiting friends, and picking cherries.
🗓️ Week of June 8-14:
Dear Pantry Diaries,
I had SUCH good eating week! To be vulnerable for a second (this is MY diary after all), I had such a great work week! Being a freelancer has its highs and lows, and this week was very much a high since I spent every workday doing what I love, where work didn’t quite feel like work. I feel so lucky that some weeks can provide that for me. Over the weekend, we drove up to Kingston our friends who live up there.
🏡 Meals In:

Buttermilk Pancakes: A picture of pancakes might just be a permanent fixture in my pantry diaries. If you missed it, I published my recipe for perfect weekend buttermilk pancakes here!
This and That Bowl: An easy couscous bowl (this) for Sunday night dinner with marinated white beans, lightly sautéed kale, and yogurt-turmeric chicken thighs (that).
Leftovers with a Fresh Salad: Monday night dinner was inspired by Sunday night. I paired the leftover chicken thighs with the remaining white beans, plus I added a fresh salad of chopped cucumbers, radishes, tomatoes, avocados, and feta. Plus a slice of bread!
Shells alla Vodka all Salmon: I love when I get to take home extra ingredients from work. On Tuesday, I got a leftover box of large medium pasta shells and smoked salmon. After a long work day for Noah and me, we opted for jarred vodka sauce and made our own shells alla vodka with salmon, lots of parm, and peas from the freezer, of course.
Tortellini Leftovers with Arugula: Another day of good work leftovers! I took home a quart container of tortellini salad and literally just dumped arugula on it for dinner.
Breakfast Taco: Another permanent fixture in my pantry diary - I just love tortillas with eggs and avocados!
🚇 Meals/Snacks Out:

Work Lunch: Brown butter braised dumplings and good cucumbers + tofu from the Condé Nast cafeteria.
Hydration Container: Not a snack necessarily, but a very necessary hydration container I made for myself for a 90 degree day working on an outdoor shoot! I just added sooo many limes to a quart container, added cold water, ice and a little bit of salt.
🚙Upstate/Farm Visit:

Strawberry-Matcha Latte and Beet Cream-Cheese Bagel: A very Wicked-core breakfast somehow! We had breakfast with our friends at Camp Kingston. I loved my strawberry-matcha latte (my first one!), and I wished the cream cheese on this bagel was more flavorful. I loved being in Kingston with our friends!
Long Season Farm: We visited our friend Anthony who works at Long Season Farm at the Kingston Farmers Market. Not pictured is a lovely run-in with other friends who live in Kingston!
Cherries and Strawberries: All the produce at the Kingston Farmers Market was so fresh and gorgeous! We all got a half pint of strawberries and ate them while walking around - tradition!
Cherry Picking: We went cherry picking at the beautiful and wild Rose Hill Farm in Red Hook, NY. Love cherry picking with my pals! I will be going back for apricots and plums.
Rose Hill Farm: After cherry picking we enjoyed some of Rose Hills orchard wines (hard life, I know). The six of us split a bottle of their rose and some oysters?! We did go march in the No Kings in Kingston parade afterward. Life is balance!
Until next time,Gabriella 💌
come back for 🍑 soon!! 🤗
